The Home Energy Assistance Summer Crisis Program provides a one-time benefit to eligible Ohioans with cooling assistance during the summer months. The program assists in the payment of an electric bill, and/or provides an air conditioner or up to two fans to a household. The 2015 Summer Crisis program is estimated to begin on July 1, 2015, and end on August 31, 2015.
More information on Summer Crisis will be made available in the coming months.
Applicants are eligible if their household incomes are at or below 175% of the federal poverty guidelines. The period in which applicants’ annual income will be determined must not be more than 12 months or less than the 90-day period preceding the request for assistance by the household.
