The Winter Crisis Program is a heating assistance program that MAY provide a one-time payment toward a utility and/or bulk fuel service for those meeting program eligibility requirements. The Winter Crisis program began on November 1, 2015, and will continue until March 31, 2016.
Applicants may visit their local Community Action offices during our walk-in hours of 8-9:30 am, Monday through Friday, or by scheduling an appointment with a staff member.
Program requirements are as follows. Applicants MUST HAVE:
- A utility service that is currently off OR in disconnection status for gas and/or electric services.
- A utility service that needs to be started.
- 25% or less supply of bulk fuel (propane, fuel oil, wood, coal, etc.).
- The total household income must be at or below175% of the 2014 federal poverty guidelines.
